Responsibility for myself to just learn more about how to advocate as a planner. And so learning — coming here and learning about the different priorities for planners and networking, I think, was a really important piece for me because I met so many great people that serve as resources for me.
And I just thought that the conference itself was just a really good learning opportunity and I heard really great things from fellow planners that attended last year. So I definitely made it a priority for myself to come.
One of the most important things I would say is that it’s really helpful for shaping what you want to think about as a planner. I know that affordable housing is an interest of mine, but being here I’ve also learned about community development, as well as economic development.
And I think that, that goes hand in hand with affordable housing. So I came in wanting to learn more about one thing and left thinking about more than one thing and thinking about different priorities. And so I would encourage other planners to make that investment because you never know what you
